Rust Server Not Appearing in In-Game Server Browser

Your Rust server should naturally appear in the in-game list. The time for its visibility varies; for some, it might take minutes, while for others it may require a few days. If your server is still not visible after checking the community and modded tabs, you might be facing some issues. Here are some potential solutions to this problem:

  1. Modify Server Name: If your server name is overly long or consists of special characters, it might not appear in the list. Try to simplify the name and limit it to generic keyboard characters.
  2. Ensure Rust Version Is Updated: Automatic updates for server versions do not occur on forcewipe. Hence, it's crucial to keep your server version consistently updated to the latest one. If oxide is enabled, it should automatically update upon server boot.

  3. Update Server Mods/Plugins: If any mods or plugins are out of date on your server, they might interfere with visibility. Make sure all mods and plugins are updated to their most recent versions.

  4. Wait for Indexing: After setting up your server, it's advised to wait for 3-5 days for the game to index it.

Keep in mind that the Rust server list has a limited capacity, and your server might not always be visible.

If these steps don't resolve your issue, consider connecting to your server directly using the IP address as shown in our 'Getting Started Guide'.
